GE Vernova to Invest Nearly $600 Million in U.S. Factories

GE Vernova has announced a $600 million investment in U.S. factories and production facilities over the next two years. This expansion will create over 1,500 new manufacturing and engineering jobs, focusing on gas turbines, power grids, nuclear energy, and onshore wind production.

Key Investments:

  • $300 million to expand gas turbine production across multiple locations.
  • $20 million in power grid solutions, with investments in Charleroi, PA, and Clearwater, FL, creating 260 jobs for high-voltage grid equipment.
  • $50 million in nuclear energy in Wilmington, NC, to enhance fuel production for the BWRX-300 small modular reactor.
  • $100 million in onshore wind energy, upgrading factories in Pensacola, FL; Schenectady, NY; Grand Forks, ND; and Amarillo, TX.
  • $10 million in solar energy storage in Pittsburgh, PA, for a new Flexinverter manufacturing line.
  • $100 million for an advanced research center in Niskayuna, NY, focusing on electrification, carbon reduction, alternative fuels, AI, and infrastructure security.

These investments are part of a $9 billion global capital expenditure and R&D plan through 2028. GE Vernova, headquartered in Massachusetts, employs 18,000 workers across 18 U.S. manufacturing facilities.
